  B.J.'s Warehouse Club has spray brake cleaner for something like $12 
 for a case of 12 cans.

This stuff is great, no residue (other than what you were cleaning), 
doesn't bother paint, removes lots of grease, dirt, transmission fluid, 
oil and (of course) brake fluid.

I'm kind of meticulous about things being clean when I do mechanical 
work, so I've gone through 3 cases on my Stag engine/transmission 
rebuild. Well worth it.
