Thanks, cogged is fine for me as it's a daily driver.

I think the cummins cogged as well (I'll know for sure tomorrow), as the
truck shop found the gates in the same xref entry.

my spare is an optibelt, it's cogged too but it didn't start out life that
way....

Art,
These several fan belts Randall Young mentioned for TR 2-4A engines are
notched (cogged), but function very well:

NAPA 25-28386 (same as Gates following)
Gates TR28386
Goodyear - part no 24377

I'm unaware of the features of:

Cummins 178539WRZ

The one source of new smooth belts, as original, I know of is:

Optibelt -VB 20-900 Li (made in UK - actually N. Ireland)

Optibelt (a German Company) has their US distribution center in suburban
Chicago. Several years ago I met w/ the nat'l sales mgr and he took an
interest in my TR4 and included several 20-900Li belts in his next
container for me as samples. I passed along this info to John Swauger
of TRF and TRF now proudly sells this non cogged fan belt as TRF part no
58924. By the way, 20 x 900, is the metric size of the belt.

Once again I fear I've spent too much time on obscure TR things.

On the + side, last weekend I drove my TR4 375 miles to Blackhawk Farms
race course for the vintage sports car races and than over to Sussix,
WI, for the British Car Field Day. Great weather and great TR driving.
Early on Thurs I'm off to Auburn, IN, for the TRA meeting.

brgds, Jay
