Rear badge removal TR6

Good Morning listers,
    This week I got around to trying to remove the rear Triumph badge on my
TR6.  One of the nylon clips that hold the badge on is impossible to get at.
Neither Bentley or Haynes give any enlightenment as to how to remove the
badge.  Has anyone removed and reinstalled the badge without destroying the
badge, the finish, or both?
    I appreciate the assistance.
