Jack,
I relined my rear brakes at a commercial friction material company in San
Jose, CA, when we lived there. They did an excellent job and it was cheap
compared to new from Moss and TRF. I also had them reline my clutch disc,
rebuild the pressure plate, and install a new TO bearing in my new sleeve.
Again, excellent work at very competitive rates. They also do a lot of
competition work for both street and sports racers!
Go to the yellow pages and look under brakes and/or friction material. Call
around with your request, someone will undoubtedly be able to help you.
Good luck, and as always, YMMV!

Subject: Girling 10 inch rear brakes
I need to replace my rear 10 inch Girling rear brakes on my 59 TR3. I
almost died when I saw the prices: $199 from Moss and $110 from VB (VB is
charging $65 for the core) this is especially disheartening when you
consider the 9 inch brakes are $21. I know I'm going to pay a premium for
44 year old parts, but this is ridiculous.
Does anyone know where I can get these shoes relined or a less expensive
source?
Thanks in advance
