Darrell, I noted the same thing.  I screwed that sucker down tight and it
worked without a leak.  I think they make the same kit for the
TR6 and they figure it will work well enough for the 4.  I had wondered
that maybe the DPO had changed the 3 way union on my particular car.

Subject: Moss stainless-steel comp brake line set

Has anyone installed the competition stainless steel brake line kit 
that Moss sells for a TR4A-IRS (made by Goodridge)?  On the 4A-IRS, the 
left-rear hose connects into the 3-way fitting, instead of a hard-line. 
  The original hose there seals the shoulder of the fitting to the 
union, with a copper washer to seal.  The hose in the kit had the usual 
end fitting for everything else (male taper).  Goodridge said "we've 
never had a complaint", Moss says "it is designed to seat in the bottom 
of the union".
