Yep .. same thing happened to me with my TR-6 Atype OD tranny.

My loving wife actually rode around town with me . . without the tranny
tunnel cover on.
Any time it wouldn't drop out of OD .. I'd tell her to whack it.

A light tap on the steel ring part was all that was required.

It wasn't until we traded places and I let her drive that I learned how hot
it was over there with the air blowing up past the exhaust pipe.

What can I say . . I got lucky in the wife department.
