OK, I'll jump in.
A few years ago, before I had my latest Triumph, I saw a pretty nice
GTO. I
complimented the owner, and told him my dad had one just like it, etc. He was
very
pompous about it, like he really wasn't interested. I remembered that.
Now, whenever someone comments on my car, (even the inevitable "Is that
an MG?") I bend over backwards to be friendly. "Well, it is a British car,
like an MG,
but it's a Triumph". And if they want to hear more, I'll go on. And on.
To me, the best thing is the kids. A loud, red convertible gets their
attention. "Cool car!". They don't know or care what marque it is, but they
know
they like it! Yeh!
