Well said, Fred!
Let me add that If you are just wanting to get rid of Triumph stuff, I
don't see any harm in letting people know on list what you have
available. Better still, post the list to a web site and invite
interested parties to take a look.
EBAY, however is a bastion for people who want to sell stuff far and
above its value. I have seen a few things that i would have bought but
by the time I found them, the price had already been bid up well above
what I (or anyone with half a brain) would be willing to pay.
So If you want to use the list to advertise Triumph parts, Don't put
them on EBAY. I doubt many people on this list will be dumb enough to
enter the EBAY bidding frenzy anyway.
When I have some parts I want to sell, I ask people what they are
willing to pay for them. If I consider it a fair price, it is a "Done
Deal" At the same time, I deal on a personal check or money order
basis. So far, I have not been burned and see no reason to deal with
the likes of "PayPal" that charge what I consider exorbitant fees for
their service.
