Couldn't let that comment go by without sharing the high school memory it
jogged. She was a bit of a flower child, as I was (more or less at the
time)...AND she had a beautiful red '64 TR4 with the optional wood dash. To
this day I'm not sure with whom (which) I was more in love: her or her car!
At least I almost had the chance to get the car when it came up for sale.
Alas, I was still too young to drive and couldn't afford it anyway, and Dad
wasn't quite ready to move up from his Herald. The girl, on the other hand,
was two years older than I and basically unattainable at that point (although
we did share a couple of interesting times together).
I mean, we WERE both hippies, Episcopalians and Triumph fans. And I'd never
heard Firesign Theater quite like that before...or since. ;-)
