I don't know if mine is original (I think it is), but there is a small piece
of angle iron about the length of the battery that goes on the top front
side of the battery. Then there are two "J" bolts that extend down on the
sides of the battery diagonally. They clamp into two slots on either side
and a bolt with a washer tightens down on the top. Apparently it works
because there has never been a problem with the battery moving around (that
I know of).
Anyone else have this setup?
