Dave!

Beautiful explaination..........really bolts do not have 'female'
threads.........they are 'male threads'.

The only trouble I've had with this adaptor (which was from Moss) is that if
it is not tight enough, when you change the filter, the whole adaptor and
filter comes off as a unit...............

But then..........if you spin up the adaptor too tight.........you might
spoil the O-Ring..........

Guess all I can add is.........if your filter and adaptor come off as a
unit............the adaptor is NOT quite tight enough.......

It's possible.........I finally got mine just right.........and have had no
further problems...........and it really makes for an easy oil change......

Now, on my wife's Jag...........the concensus seems to be that these adaptors
for this application, do not allow enough flow..........who
knows............so I guess I'll stick with the old, terrible, canister,
bolt, spring, plate, wash thoroughly, and paper filter, and get that rubber
gasket JUST right........and BE SURE you don't leave the old gasket in
place..........because of the 8 quarts of oil on the floor..........with
dread!!!!!

Thank goodness they seem to work well on the TR's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers to everyone!

Clark
