As there was no Federal requirement at the time (and few states cared, either),
it was up to the dealer here in the US. I've had three cars, mirrors as
follows: TR3A, with a mirror about halfway between the center of the wheel arch
and the rear edge of the fender; another TR3A with two "wing" mirrors out near
the front bonnet edge line; and a TR3B on which I don't remember if it had any
exterior mirrors. (Brad?)
Choose a location that works for you. I don't like the mirrors so far forward,
but others do....
