Sure did - poured out like freshly reamed prostate! Equally, exiting
water flow on forward and reverse flushing of the block and radiator
was no different (as far as I could see) to delivery flow from the
hose. Gushed happily everywhere.

Having hauled out the tap, there's no sign of limescale or other
deposits. If the prob persists, looks like there's no option but to
strip down the engine, haul out the liners and give it all a thorough
scrub / clean. I'm reluctant to do this because engine has only done
3000 hours since build in 1950 and is working fine. It'ld be a bit
easier if the block had a core plug or two but Fergies only have one -
and that's on the back of the head. Thanks for your thoughts
