Don't worry, you're not alone in this. The same thing happened to me when I
replaced the bushes for the trailing arms on my TR6. You can probably draw
some comfort from the fact that even if the bolts were placed in the other
way, they would have been rusted to either the sleeve in the bush, or the
brackets, so it would have been nigh on impossible to get them out anyway. I
was also impressed by the design of the rear end - having to dismantle the
entire rear end of the car to get the trailing arms off so you can rebush
the suspension really left a lasting impression on me... :-)
