Just a note. Sudden total lose of generated electricity is often caused by
the failure of the generator rear bushing. If the bushing wears past it's
tolerance the armature comes contact with the field windings which creates
enough heat to melt the insulation from the field and armature windings.
Rear bushing failure is generally caused by lack of lubrication. There is a
small hole in the center of the backplate of the generator that you should
put a small amount of oil into every time you change the engine oil.
