Darrell,

I've had excellent results using a wire brush (hand and drill mounted) for
cleaning followed by a product called Metal Prep, then Alodine 1001 and finally
high temp Clear coat. I recently did this to my intake manifold and it almost
looks too good. I'll send a picture if you like.

Metal Prep and Alodine are available from www.aircraftspruce.com . There are two
types of Alodine. One leaves a goldish hue to the Aluminum the other (1001)
leaves a natural finish. I believe things like Master Cylinders and Thermostat
housings should be treated with the gold hued formula for an original look.

Aircraft Spruce has quite an array of products of interest to LBC owners. The
products I mention above are well described on their web site. A quart of
solution is about $9 each if memory serves. The service I received was great. I
had the products two days after entering a web order using standard UPS ground
shipping.

Now I have to resist the temptation to remove everything made of Aluminum so I
can make it look new.

Hmmm...maybe the trailing arms will be next...
