Nope, you're right on the money. However I believe "they weren't changing
the oil when they said they did" is a possibility. I once looked at an
engine that clearly hadn't been serviced in 20,000 miles or more; the owner
produced a receipt showing it had had the oil, filters and plugs changed
just two weeks before I saw it. I recommended she contact a lawyer (the
engine was ruined).
Don't recall if the receipt was from Jiffy Lube, it may have been one of the
other, similar chains.
