hole on the front apron (Moss part #???, illustration #53 on page 56 of the
Adobe TR3 catalog).
What do these do? Are they important? Does anyone have a spare set for
sale? :)

1) They hold the front crank guide in position so that the tangential
forces applied whilst cranking don't a) bend the sheet metal and b) allow
the crank shaft to press on the hole in the radiator.
2) if you plan on hand cranking, yes.
