Michael,
I contacted John, the 'very original' '62 TR4 eBay winner. It's his first
Triumph ever - (has a couple German cars) he's buying it for his wife's
birthday (born in '62). I've invited him to our list and VTR site as well as
sending address of Dan's most excellent 100+ TR photos site: (
www.thelittlemacshop.com/trsite/search.php3) for starters. I believe he's in
Chicago.
I mentioned that his 'new' car is one of the most original condition cars
I've ever seen on eBay (rivals that recent Hawaiian sale - now safely
residing in Arizona I think). I'm hoping he's a fanatic for keeping it
original! ( I was rooting for a $15,000 + sale myself).
Regards,
Carl

>>Listers,
The ultra-original TR4 offered for sale on EBay (that some of you have been
following and some bidding on) sold for US$12,000. Check it out at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1816082115
A top class TR4 will go for about AU$25,000 (about US$13,000) here in
Australia so IMHO this may have gone a little cheaply considering the high
level of originality which should probably have attracted a premium (NFI
etc). But I recognise that it is difficult to compare prices across
continents and between LHD and RHD cars. I would like to hear the opinions
of listers on this point...
So is the new owner on the list?
Cheers,
Michael (really likes the EBay TR4's tool roll)
