David,
Congratulations! I know the feeling well. But loosen up that belt. You
should have play of plus/minus 1/2 inch in the middle. Experience is a
wonderful teacher. I learned this after ruining the bearing in a new water
pump!

Subject: She runs!!!!
Well today is a good day. For the first time the TR3a started. No more gas
leaks, no coolant leaks. Mind you, I have to run her on the choke right
now. More adjustments needed I guess.
When she was running for more than 20 seconds and stopped the fan belt was
slightly smoking and very warm. Also, little pieces of rubber were around
it, it looked like "rubber dust". Could I have the belt too tight?
Alignments issues?
She sounds sssooo good. Hoefully, things continue this way. Thanks to all.
