Just pulled the rocker assembly apart on my TR6. Found score marks on the
bearing surfaces of 9 out of 12 rockers. One was particularly bad. Many
score marks on the shaft as well.
I also noticed the holes in the pedestals for the shaft were a bit damaged.
I may have done this pulling them off. They didn't just slide off as the
Haynes book said. I had to spin them and heat a couple too. Not sure, but I
think oil only flows through the rear pedestal.
What is the best approach for a fix? I recall reading about places that
recondition rocker arms. Or should I just buy parts?
Thanks,
Hugh Fader
