I always heard the TR-7 was the downfall of Triumph. They never recovered
from the bad rap they got for poor quality on the first TR-7s. I'm a long
time British car owner so I know you need to be constantly tinkering on them
but I never expected what my sister went through on her new TR-7. Under
warrenty she had the camshaft replaced, two transmissions replaced and
decided to get rid of it when they said the thing needed new bearings.

Subject: Long Live The TR Wedge!!!!!
Hi guys,
As the owner and driver of both a TR3B and a TR7 FHC, TR7 DHC and a TR8 DHC
I
think I have something to add to the tread going around. I like the Wedges!
It`s not that I don`t like the 3B but the Wedge is just a whole lot more
civilized and truly a car worthy of the TR Name. Sure the 7`s are somewhat
underpowered but the handling is superb. The 8 has enough power to "Smoke
the Tires" but handling suffers a little. Now the 3 gives you the "Wind in
your Face" and "Bugs in your Teeth" experience that you will never get out
of
a Wedge but that does not make them any less of a Sports Car in the true
tradition of British Motoring. I say to the Early TR Men to try one and you
just might like IT! Long Live the TR Wedge!
