There may be more to it than just low quailiy points. The distributor lobes
are 15 + years old as well. It would be a good idea to remove the dist and
polish the lobes. In fact it would be a good time to remove the breaker plate
and lube the advance weights.
Electronic ignition will offer a slight performance gain, while not
measurable on a dyno it will offer crisper throttle responce if the plug gaps
are opened a bit. Say from .025 to .035 In.
