Hi and lots of thanks to the list!
I followed the advice from several list members and exchanged the ignition
coil and points. That solved the problem! It was no vapor lock or similar
fancy stuff, just a simple coil and points change. Today was the big test
with temperatures 95 plus and the motor operated like a well maintained
clock, no hesitation or sputtering!
