An easier way is to turn the crank until one of the valves for a
particular cylinder is open. Its opposite member will be closed,
and can then be adjusted.
I bought a big thick book for my TR6, and in it is a chart
telling you that if #X valve is closed, #A, Y, W can be set, and
so forth. This information might be replicated in the owner's
manual as well.
