Apparently blowing the manifold gasket out on the intake side of a cylinder due
to a backfire (in my case the number 1 cylinder) is not unheard of. So I have
acquired a new heavy duty gasket from Moss. I really don't want this to happen
again, so my questions to the list is....

1. Is there anything else I can do to prevent this in the future?

2. Is there some kind of special gasket sealer (permatex # ???) that should be
applied during installation? What about the High tack stuff? Form-a-gasket?
None of these will be expected to take the heat around the exhaust ports.

Thanks in advance!
