TR3 Control Head Question

    I just put in a TRF repro control head (with repro wheel too) in my
TR3A. The problem is that even with the screws tightened down, the inner
ring slips when I go around corners and the turn signals are no longer self
cancelling. I am leary of torquing down the screws tighter for fear of
stripping out the holes. And yes, the screws are wedging against the ring
because I can see the marks on the ring.
     Anyone else BTDT? I have been considering notching the ring slightly,
but want the lists opinion.
