John,
At the end of the day, it's just a Herald, and by no means a rare
variant. There are still good numbers of them out there, so it's not like
your destroying the last one. On the other hand, if it was a low mileage
original car with excellent provenance, then my opinion would be somewhat
different.......
I hope you go for it - it sounds like an excellent project. I've
never seen one of the original cars and have often wondered if any survive,
