Randall, DOT 5 compatibility? > If all else fails, you just fill up with glycol. It's fully compatible. Besides, DOT 5.1 is not any easier to find than DOT 5. It's my understanding that DOT 5 (silicone) is not compatible with anything but DOT 5. Dot 5.1 (glycol based) is compatible with DOT 3 and DOT 4. Mixing DOT 5 with any other DOT creates a nasty, unsafe mess.
