You mentioned changing everything except the rotor-
Last season several folks with TR's & Jags had ROTOR shorting problems- all
will check out in the electrical aspects of the distributor cicuit (low
tension wire ='HOT' / points opening = spark), but the cracked (sometimes
can't see where) rotor shorts the high tension circuit to the distributor
shaft instead of to the plug wires.
I suspect this rash was caused by exteremly hot summer temps and ''reverse
run-on' - the reverse run on cracks the rotors as tey are asymetrical.
