Hi Suzie,
I can't add any more myself other than that Dave Gleed (Coventry
Classics) has mentioned the S2 cars to me - he had some unused badges from
these cars in his autojumble stock. He didn't go into specifics, but he said
that they were some specially tuned Spitfires (he spoke in plural terms) and
that the badge was based on a Herald 'S' boot badge with a 2 grafted on. I
would suggest picking Dave's brains about this one - he would have been
involved with building this kind of vehicle while he worked at
Standard-Triumph.
