Ask your wife to give you an old hand mirror (compact).  Or, buy one
yourself.  If you shine a flashlight (torch) on the mirror, the light
will reflect onto what you're trying to look at ...

When you jack the car up, put your jackstands under the frame, so the
rear suspension will droop and give you the most room to work above it.
