Hi Jan:
I did the same last spring. (76 TR6). If I remember correctly.
Along the edge of the molding sills. There were two rivet holes (about
8" apart) 1/8" diam. on each front wing. One 1/8" rivet hole at the
very front of each rear wing. (back about 1&1/2" from the seam on the
rocker & door post). Then there were only three more 1/8" rivet holes
spaced evenly apart (10")? under the door of each side. Before you
start hold the trim in place and mark your ends. The trim should be
centered (front & back) along this edge.
I used 1/8" diam. x 1/2" L. stainless steel rivets. Also gooped up
the holes w/silicone before I popped the rivets in. (To prevent rust).
I also used the molding edge to mask off the body to paint the lower
portion w/ black, rubberized undercoating and then used the same semi
flat black paint , that I used to paint the rear valance and windshield
surround. When the trim was installed it hid my transistion (Body color
/ undercoating) line. Looks very good.
    Hope this helps?

I have purchased my 14 rivets to mount the chrome trips (molding sill)
on the
exterior of my TR6. However, when I purchased the car they had been
removed
and I do not have the measurement of where the seven should be placed.
Can
anyone give me the approximate measurements with some reference point?

Additionally, what size rivet gun is required?
