Yes, a GT6.  Probably a 68 or 69 year model.  Not sure about the compression 
and HP.  Conversion to a Spit is pretty straight forward
(since the GT6 is essentially a Spit with the larger engine.  YOu need a GT6 
bell housing and gearbox, along with the GT6 radiator. 
You would be better off getting a GT6 and dropping the Spit body onto the 
frame.  That way you get all the brakes and suspension
components you really need for that extra weight.
