Well considered post, it's been covered before I know, maybe you just recycled
an
old email. ;-) But AFA a Triumph remake, given the BMW
Mini, I don't think it's inconceivable. The Mini is barely known in the US
in my experience, but I think it'll likely be a money maker for BMW. And
frankly despite my love of BMW's 2002s, I'd rather have the new Mini
than the new 2-series based on what I've seen of the 2002 prototype.
BMW clearly believes they can go after a lower price point (I offer the
Mini and their planned 2-series as supporting evidence) so...why not
a Triumph? Well, lots of reasons, but it's not inconceivable that the
right approach could give us a successful Triumph again. I'm not
counting on it, either.
