2 Blocks isn't enough time to recharge the battery. Also these short trips
will wearout the engine pretty quickly because the oil never gets hot enough
to burn off moisture.
A 15-20 mile drive once a week might be enough to keep the battery charged
and oil moisture low.
The other solution could be to ride a bike, walk or move farther away from
work. ;+)
