Most GOOD performance machine shops use honing plates (what were referred to
as torque plates) when machining blocks. It is also important that the main
caps also be installed when boring/honing a cylinder. For those who wish to
buy a honing plate, drop me a note off list on which engine you're interested
in and I'll reply within 24 hours. I will go further on this subject if
anyone asks.
