MICHAEL...I have visited this site before. It does indeed have some good
information and does indeed lure one to attempt what seems like a fairly
simple proceedure. However, I have also read numerous articles in "hot rod"
publications such as Car Craft and Hot Rod about porting and polishing heads
and manifolds. I have come away from that research convinced head work
(grinding, polishing, flowing) should be left to the pros with the equipment
and experience. Intake manifolds are probably within the abilities of amateur
mechanics such as myself with a little instruction and the right tools.
BUT...after reading these articles and carefully examining my TR250's intake
manifold the most important thing to be done is port matching...ie matching
the (exit) ports of the intake manifold with the (intake) ports of the head.
Standard abrasives offers a fairly comprehensive kit selection.
NFI etc etc
