Chris,
Paint black right up and under where the boot lid gasket will fit.
On either side, paint up to the seam, about 2" forward, then continue
the black up the inner side of the wing about 1-3/4". This line actually
angles forward about 15 degrees.
On the boot lid, paint all the way under to where the lip ends,
and on the trailing sides of the boot lid too. This is a little difficult to
explain in words.
These are my observations of one original car. It's possible there
are variations depending on who was on the paint line that day.
There is good reason for this. My car was painted incorrectly,
and when viewed from the rear, you could see a red line between the
boot lid and the valence. Ugh!
BTW, my local paint supply house had some 1/4" wide stretchy
plastic tape that was perfect for masking off the tight curves on the
rear of the TR6.
