Assuming the engine is CC63660E, not CC6366OE, it would have come from a
71 model year car. Engine numbers follow roughly the same sequence as
commision numbers, but no effort was ever made to match them - engine
numbers are usually a little higher than the commission numbers, presumably
because these engines were also used in other cars at the time (TVR 2500
for instance) so it would be hard for anyone to tell if an engine of the same
year were not original.
sorry, can't help with the gearbox no. - doesn't look right to me.
If you have a TRF TR6 spare parts catalogue, look in the front - i think
there's
an explanation of serial numbers there.
