Phil,

Buy some heavy duty stainless steel scouring pads, stuff one up the tailpipe 
with a broom handle.  Do two if necessary.  It will burn out in a couple of 
months and you will have to repeat, but you can "tune" the exhaust note to 
suit yourself.
