Someone pointed out offlist that in my note the other day I
referenced the old rubber bands to cover spoke ends now
being replaced by tape.  I didn't mean to imply that either
the rubber bands or the tape would seal the spoke ends (they
won't).  These are just to keep the spoke nipples/ends from
causing holes in the tube.  Sorry if it caused any confusion.

I did get my order of this special tape yesterday.  It does
appear to be much like electrical tape, perhaps a bit thicker
but the same basic stuff.  It is about 1.5 inches wide, which
should help versus multiple passes of regular electrical tape.

Also, earlier on, someone mentioned that some wire wheels
might not be suitable for tubeless tires since they weren't
of the "safety rim" design.  I didn't know what that meant
and did a search.  Found:

The photo/diagram link shows it pretty well.
My 72 spoke rims are of this design; I assume it's only
the older 48 or 60 spoke wheels which don't have the
"safety rim" design.
