I'm getting set to paint the Stag, and wondered if any of you DIY
painters out there have rigged up your own solution for a fresh air
system for use with catalyzed paints.
I have three options, non of them really desirable right now:
1) Rent a system. This is expensive, and as I plan to paint over the
coarse of a week, could cost as much as a purchased system. I also can't
afford it right now.
2) Buy a system. Still expensive, but since I expect to paint at least
two more cars after this, It's more reasonable. I still can't afford it
right now.
3) Build a system. Take a small air pump (used for a bubble tub), run it
through a hose to a carbon element respirator mask. Cut the hose so
excess air can escape easily. I've got everything I need to do this,
including nice light flexible hoses that are about 1.75" in diameter.
Anyone got any thoughts?
