Michael,

I don't think the 80 lbs is worth worrying about.  Mine cuts out
at 80 when cold as well.  The rear oil seal has nothing to do
with your oil pressure from what I know.  The standard seal is an
old design that depends on engine interior vacuum to suck air in
at the seal and the slinger swirl pattern on the crank is
supposed to "migrate" oil back into the engine.

I converted my oil seal to the modern rubber/spring type.

Hello all,
The old TR3 has been in the garage most of the summer due to the
weather and
a bad valve. Also I have quite a leak from the rear main. My oil
pressure
today was running at 80lbs at 60mph. Do you think I should adjust
it down a
bit? or would that not have an effect on the amount of oil spewed
forth.
