Hi Chris :-)

Please elaborate on the Chev thermostat ( i.e. applicable Chev models , part
numbers etc. ) . Will these also be suitable for Mk 1 and Mk 2 Spitfires ?

Depends.  What degree is your thermosat.  They come at
about 175, 185 and 195 or pretty close anyway.  In
England, they recommend 175 for summer and 195 for
winter.  Usually in the states, folks install the 185
and forget it.  I've been running the 195 for a couple
of years, but then it hasn't been over 85 degrees here
in two years.  If you put in a high thermostat and a
low turn on switch, the fans gonna run all the time. 
That's not good.  The thermostat is the same as a
standard chev unit, so it is available everywhere and
cheap.

I'm planning on installing a electric fan soon.  But I
figured that I needed an adjustable switch with a
manual overide and a mechanical temperature guage.
