Listers-anyone have a copy of the factory paperwork that came with the
Lumenition electronic ignition for a TR6? I'd like to borrow it so that I
could scan it. The 1974 TR6 I just bought has this installed and I have no
documentation.
Also, the coil in the car looks like the original-any recommendations on
type/brand that could be substituted is welcomed. Can any non-ballested
performance coil (MSD, etc.) be installed?
Thanks!

Paul,
I have the fitting instructions for the Lumenition OPTRONIC
IGNITION . Should you not find them in the States, I can scan
them and send them as attachment.
Whith concern to coil it says in ignition feed instructions:
The red wire from the coil must be connected to an ignition
switched 12V supply. If your system included a ballast resistor the
original connection of this resistor to the coil must not be re-made.
Coil specifications: Primary resistance : 0.77 + - 0.5 oms
                             Primary Inductance : 3.7 + - .15 mh
                             Operat.temp. : 115 deg C max
                              Energy : 58mj
                              Max output Voltage: 37kv
Internal Thermal fuse: 144 deg C
I had the MAGNETRONIC SYSTEM on my 6 using the Gold Lucas
Sport coil, and this worked well. I now have the OPTRONIC
system what is part of the electronic engine management system
(ignition and injection) with the Black Lumenition Coil. Should you
wish to use the Lumenition coil, I could check what factory # it is.
Regards
Jean
