I've a TR4 that I've had the engine rebuilt about 3 years ago and I've been
running it every so often. About 2 or 3 months after I had the rebuild, I
had oil in the radiator and to fix the problem, they placed a copper wire
between the head and the block. Last week, I was going to start the motor
again, and I checked the water level in the radiator and could not see
any, so I checked the oil and found a grey colored mixture I'm presuming
was water. I guess the water said if the oil could visit it, it could visit
the water.
I've drained it, put fresh oil in, no more water, removed the plugs and
spun the engine until I had oil pressure.
I'm presuming as low as the water was in the radiator, that the water has
to be entering from low in the engine. Any ideas?
Also, any good recommendations on a knowledgeable mechanic in the Atlanta area?
Thanks in advance.
