It shakes and rattles like crazy,
It make a lots of noise from all the loose parts and fasteners,
It smells gas, oil, and burn from too hot rear brakes!!,
It wobbles a lot because of the 15+ years old tires
(145 on 4.5" rims on one side, 135 on 3.5" rims on the other side
and 4 different brand of tires!!!)
It doesn't brake very well (kindda stuck rear brakes and rust)
But....... it did go around the block about ten times without a problem!!!
(if you count what I wrote previously ;-) )
All I can say is: WooooooHooooooo
MAN!!! I'm smiling so much that my teeth are dry!!!
Thanks to all that answered my, sometime trivial, questions. The clutch
hydraulics worked perfectly although the clutch itself was stuck. I
remembered previous threads on how to solve the problem. Put the car in
fourth gear, depress the clutch pedal, hold the brakes and turn the key....
Worked like a charm. (That's when I started smiling and it's still going!
;-) )
The first few meters where done on the lawn in the backyard with no seats!!!
But for me it's no problem since I'm 6'6". It was perfect except for the
lack of back support. Went back to the garage, put the seats in and my wife
and I went for a ride around the block. We looked like to kids in a candy
store! :-)))
Unfortunately, we couldn't go too far, no plates, no insurance. :-(
But, nonetheless, it's one more Spit on the road!!!
DMV is next...
Now, for the listers in Ontario and Quebec, for the safety, what are they
looking for? I'm guessing all running lights, horn, brakes. What else?
Once again, thanks for all the help, past and future.
