Mike; Back in the late sixties I ran my first TR4A for years with push on
hoses without a problem.That is, until very late one evening I decided to
boogie on home the deserted Freeway in LA at about 95 MPH. One of the hoses
vibrated off, and the car quit. I put clamps on the lines after that.
However, the original hoses are of different ID than what you can get at an
auto parts store. I wouldn't trust replacement hose without clamps either.
