TR6 Engine Rebuild ~ your opinions

I am considering having my engine rebulit. Although it runs good and appears 
to be strong, it does leak. 

First am I crazy to consider rebuilding when it does run good?

Second, if I do rebuild what is an average cost to do so. Please keep in mind 
I would redo the engine compartment as well.

Third, can anyone suggest someone in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Ct)
